We are currently working exclusively with a primary school in Kings Heath who are seeking a skilled and caring EYFS and Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team, starting in September 2023 for a full academic year.

About the role

As a EYFS and Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of the student. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing support and assistance to students throughout the school day, both in the classroom and during specific activities

• Implementing personalized learning plans and strategies to meet the students' individual needs and learning goals

• Promoting positive behaviour management techniques and implementing strategies to support the student's emotional well-being

• Collaborating closely with the class teacher and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment

• Monitoring and recording the students' progress and providing feedback to the teacher and parents/guardians regularly

• Assisting with classroom activities, including preparing materials, facilitating small group work, and supporting the student's participation in group activities

• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the students, establishing a safe and nurturing environment for their learning

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Have a genuine passion for working with EYFS and Key Stage 1 pupils

• Possess relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably supporting students in EYFS and Key Stage 1

• Showcase excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with teachers, parents/guardians, and external professionals

• Display patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach, ensuring the students' well-being and emotional needs are met

• Hold relevant qualifications or certifications in special educational needs, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
