Are you a skilled behavior mentor with a passion for positively impacting students' lives?

We are currently working exclusively with a primary school in Yardley who are seeking a skilled and caring Behaviour Mentor to join their team, starting in September 2023.

About the role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of the student. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implement behaviour interventions and support for students with challenging behaviours
  • Assess and analyse student behaviour to develop individualized behaviour plans
  • Provide counselling and guidance to students on managing their behaviour
  • Assist teachers in maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment
  • Collaborate with parents to offer strategies for positive behaviour at home
  • Work with school staff to ensure a cohesive approach to behaviour management
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports on student progress and outcomes
  • Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and protocols
  • Engage in professional development to stay updated on best practices
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture, fostering respectful relationships

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Preferably a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, counselling, or a related field
  • Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting
  • In-depth knowledge of behaviour management techniques and interventions
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting students with behavioural challenges
