Cover Supervisor - Redditch

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated individual looking for a rewarding position within education?

We are currently working exclusively with a secondary school in Redditch who are seeking a talented and motivated Cover Supervisor, starting in ASAP for a full academic year, ona full time basis.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the school's teaching and learning environment by providing cover for absent teachers and maintaining a positive and productive classroom atmosphere. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and seek to make a positive impact on the lives of young people.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and materials to students across various subjects and year groups in the absence of teachers
  • Supervise and manage students' behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Follow the school's behaviour management policies and procedures, promoting positive discipline and reinforcing high expectations
  • Ensure students' understanding of tasks and provide appropriate support and guidance when necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and progress of students in the class
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning and provide feedback on student progress
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students to address any concerns or issues that may arise during the cover sessions
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and materials as required
  • Uphold and promote the school's values, ethos, and policies

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Experience working with secondary school-aged students in an educational or similar setting is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to adapt and deliver pre-prepared lessons across various subjects and year groups
  • Confidence and ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
  • An understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to the welfare and well-being of students
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing situations and cover requirements
  • An enthusiastic and proactive approach to supporting the educational development of young people
